A: I wish I had one years ago, then I may have been able to answer yes.

However, I have not actually had such an experience. The main use I get out of it is to test wood when I take it to a job site, and before I start installing. I also use it to test the sub floor to make sure there is not a large discrepancy between the sub floor and the finished flooring to be installed.
