Q: One visitor asked, "I put on three coats of polyurethane on my newly sanded and stained floor and was wondering if i need to WAX it. I heard that two coats of wax should be applied but i was looking at different sites and they never mentioned anything about waxing the floor. Should it be waxed?"

A:I would never recommend applying wax or any other foreign finish over polyurethane. If you do that, it will make keeping the floors clean more difficult, and will present possibly impossible odds of ever buffing and recoating the floors when they start to wear.
